Wilde reading!
This reading was very interesting to me because I have had many struggles with spelling throughout my life and I do remember how my teachers went about helping us learn in elementary school. In the article she talked about teachers just giving the correct spellings to the students if they would ask and how that will never be a useful resource to them for their futures. Spelling is like math or any other subject, you dont want to give the students the answer or they will never learn. Also the different ways that she talked about useful resources for spelling were very similar to how I approach the them in everyday life. I feel like giving each child a dictionary and having them spend more time with activities on spelling would be very helpful and beneficial to their futures. I have always felt that spelling is important to writing and literature and also helps them become more familiar with vocabulary words. The more practice with using their own resources the better and easier it will become.

Coffe Shop!
Throughout my stay in the coffee shop I noticed that most of the conversations being held were very casual. Being that it was a public place I didnt hear many conversations that were deep or full of emotion. I also expected to not see a large amount of people on a Wednesday afternoon but it was actually a very popular place to be! I feel as though it was a place to pass the time and for people to be social in a public setting. The variety of people was also an interesting observation, there were many different ages and motives for their visit to the Coffee Shop. It was a very relaxed atmosphere and gave a very comfortable vibe off to everyone.
Crafting Writers Ch. 1-3,6
This reading was very interesting to me because I have never felt confident in a learning style that is affective when it comes to students and their writing abilities. Breaking the process down into sections, such as "voice", makes more sense and helps to build their writing techniques. I was very intrigued with their definition and idea about what it is to have a "voice" when writing. It is so important to give each child as much motivation and resources as possible because they are all going to be different and have a different way of writing. Also, saying that this is a process and not something that happens over night really put me at ease. I always feel pressured to be successful when it comes to lesson plans and activities but being told that "things take time"and "take one step at a time" makes it less stressful. One of these steps or ideas that the reading discussed was including drawings into the writing activities. I think this is a great idea! It gives the students more room to be creative and unique. I encourage uniqueness and creativity because it helps students to think outside of the box and explore their comfort zones with academics.

Response to "That's online writing, not boring school writing"
Blogging is somethingthat I have never been into growing up, therefore hearing and reading about this new form of technology is very interesting. This is especially the case when it comes to
K-6 graders using blogging in their classrooms! I was never good with technology as a young child and it amazes me that children today are so advanced. I would definetly love to get more involved with blogging because I think it would be a great way to get students more involved and excited about class.
